91-96 Trunk Lock Cover Fix

My bowtie that covers my trunk lock is leaning the flip part, does anyone knows of a way to fix this? I heard it's a pretty common problem.

My lid and the one I bought to replace it both have this problem. I haven't found a solution. I do have an idea about it though. My thought is to drill a small hole in the corner were the vertical part intersects the horizontal lower left side. After drilling the hole I thought a small roll pin that would protrude just enough to hold it in the proper position and not be too obtrusive. I might have to cut or grind the roll pin a little to make it work.

Yeah I've got that problem, and I was thinking something similar like the roll pin idea.

I also thought of using some epoxy in the slot at the end to stop the bow tie from swinging past the normal stop position would be easier.
