Cool car. I had a 1989 Pontiac Safari wagon (same body style). It was dark blue metallic with woodgrain. Rare car and last year of the Pontiac wagon.

I traded it a couple of years ago. I miss it. I also had an 85 Caprice Estate wagon. Have a 91 Caprice and 72 Caprice wagon now.

I had one ever older than that... a 1969 Caprice hardtop with a factory 396 and hideaway headlights....

Thanks!

Rockford's swap was pretty well done, just needing a couple of final touches to make it "perfect".

He got banned. He spent too much time fighting with the good ol' boys in the Misc. section.

Here's how I did mine:

I ran the '94-'96 tank, it straps right into the older B body location, also giving you a somewhat larger fuel capacity. I used the '94-'96 lines, filter, and clips too, as the frame is the same length.

I also ran a power line from the fuel pump relay wire in the LT1 harness to the tank, and grounded the other lead in the trunk. If your car already has an electric fuel pump, simply locate that wire (likely grey) and splice it to the LT1 harness FP wire.

As far as the exhaust goes, I'm using the '94-'96 exhaust, but utilizing the '77-'90 hangers. The driver's side of the frame is drilled for it, but of course the holes were never utilized.

Lastly, I made provisions for the '94-'96 crossmember to fit, allowing for the clearance of the dual exhaust. I THINK you can buy a dual exhaust crosmember from Clear Image that will bolt into the '77-'90 cars.
