Hi!, Please help topic gearbox TH200-4R
When I turn on D or R feels a strong tug ... while driving shifts gears properly, the oil level is OK ... any suggestions? What could be wrong?

I believe its normal. Its just going into gear and the torque tries to twist and pull the car but it can't. It does it on my car and I haven't had any problems with it. Also why does your car have TH200-4R? Did you buy it that way or did you swap it in? If I'm not mistaken all 91-93 cars had the 700r4.

Is the engine speed higher than usual? That will cause a tug.

Have you adjusted the throttle valve (TV) cable if your car has one?

Also, check the transmission diagrams for a "forward abuse valve" to see if your transmission has one. Transmissions often have abuse valves for forward and reverse which bypass the normal apply orifice to cause a quicker apply when the driver shifts into gear while stepping on the gas. This is done to prevent clutch burn up. If the valve gets stuck open all the time, then you will get harsh engagement even during normal operation.
