all right we know what the radiator is. I have always thought that the two other coolers were the oil and transmission coolers but according to the haynes manual it says the transmission cooler is integral to the radiator and that the second big one is the oil cooler and the small one is the power steering cooler being the doubting Thomas that I am who is correct ie what are the proper names for the 2 other coolers?

Actually the car has two trans coolers, an internal one in the radiator and an external that you see out front. The other big one is oil. The power steering cooler is elsewhere under the car and is much smaller.

External Tranny coolers, Oil Coolers(mounted in front of the radiator like the External tranny cooler) and PowerSteering Coolers were an Option, that most Civi's did not get unless they had the towing package. 9c-1's/1A2's recieved them if they were ordered with whatever, 9C-6's generally got them as they saw Heavy-Service..

If you have the PowerSteering cooler, it would be located between the lower radiator support and front of your engine.
It looks like this

The power steering cooler (if you have one) is a "U" shaped tube, with fins on it covering both sides of the "U", so it looks rectangular. It's bolted to the frame. It's typically supplied on 9C1's only. The external oil cooler is typically a 9C1 item only too... the standard LT1 circulates the oil through a cooler in the left end tank of the radiator.

MAUSS, did the 91-93's get the Power-steering coolers like you described My 96's looks like the pic I posted, but I never got to check out what the earlier models looked like as I didn't have my 91 long enough to check out everything
