I'm sure I'll be asking some of the same Q's you've all heard a thousand times before.. Anyway - here's my ride:

it's a '95 9C1. Owned by the Chesterfield County Virginia Police Department until recently. Just over 90k on the clock, and in very nice shape - it was taken care of nicely. It has no rust and has never had any bodywork done on it. Unfortunately, the stripes were removed with a razorblade, so the paint needs some work. I'm hoping to blocksand the damage and have it shot without re-painting the whole thing. The obsession has already begun - I've already ordered SS parts for it..

It is in VERY nice shape! And no - it is not leather (pics are a little deceiving). It has cloth front and rear. I'd like to find leather - or cloth from another variant - for it eventually.

I'm already chomping at the bit to start doing performance mods, but I want to get a few baseline 1/4 mile runs in with it in stock trim, first.

My first newbie Q that I'm sure has been asked plenty before - I'm looking for an SS deck spoiler for it. I want to stay with the stock appearance. Go with a GM part? Or aftermarket - Wings West? I've seen a few on eBay, but bidding seems to get out of hand pretty quickly on them..

Cool

Cool ride buddy1...same as mine, except mine is blue interior...I'm in Canada (Ottawa) and over here, all cop cars ae white+decals...ghost cars are all white...so over here...I stress other drivers to no end...until I go past like a bat ot of hell...I love looking at their faces with the rearview!..lol...and yes, modding will become a desease...it's a terminal illness, but I've learned to live with it

Happy modding, welcome aboard and I hope you like horse meat!...goes well with rice!

Question

Are you sure your ride is a 95 ..those mirrors are 96 style, unless you have a late 95 just when they changed them ...mine is a 96...only 96's usually have those mirrors...but I've been known to be wrong before ...just tought I'd let you know!

Rock on buddy!

Ian,

Just FYI, both 95 & 96 Cars have that style mirror. The 91-94 have the door mounted smaller mirrors.

it's a '95..

Digging through the owners manual, i found the original registration and Va State Police inspection slip. The car was originally put in service in November 1996.

And last night, it got it's first taste of quarter mile action! Went to Atco Raceway... and found out that it WILL smoke the tires the ENTIRE 1/4 mile!

first pass:
60' - 2.893
330 - 7.974
1/8 - 12.058
mph - 60.52
990 - 15.419
1/4 - 18.283
mph - 82.84.

I didn't realize it was still spinning til about 100' from the finish when i checked my mirrors - and saw nothing but smoke and a really long black stripe! (DOH!)

second pass:
60' - 2.419
330 - 6.630
1/8 - 10.084
mph - 71.01
990 - 12.977
1/4 - 15.583
mph - 89.20

that's more like it!

third pass:
60' - 2.279
330 - 6.486
1/8 - 9.937
mph - 70.98
990 - 12.835
1/4 - 15.446
mph - 89.07

Overall, it's about where i thought it would be. I would have liked to get in a few more passes, but it was taking FOREVER between runs - I would have only had one more. First run was at 6:30; second at 7:24; third at 9:47. I left around 11.

wait, you said TIRES..then you said you saw a long stripE....so is it a Limited-slip?...or is it like my car used to be, and had a limited-slip that was so cooked you believed it was a "peg-leg" till you put a Eaton in.. hehe

Nice car. nice totally stock baseline, way to drop the ETs over the few runs... and niice looking firebird in front of it ...that yours too?
