I don't think your motor's starved for gas...might want to look farther if you want more power. And what the hell is "Durb" all about on your homepage.

Question

Switching up to a 3.42 gear won't help much at all when you've already got 3.23 gears. And the L05 Computer stuff will work with your L03, but you are probably better off leaving it alone.

What you could do is sell parts off that car, like, to me I could use a 3.42 rear (I've got 2.56 gears now!) an L05 Computer, the L05 TBI, and the Y-pipe However, I don't have the funds fo it

Hi-( is this a stock LO5 or a 9C1LO5?)
My recommendation would be to pull out the following;
1. injectors(9C1 has higher #/hr. injectors than stock LO5)
2. TBI for parts( other than injectors , they are the same thing)
3. Computer chip( ECM should be the same unless a 9C1(?)).
4. airbox( keep a stock one for later)
5. If it is a 92' the Y-pipe is the same as civi/stock( I am pretty sure)
6. silicone hoses?

1.It would be worthwhile to pull out the oil and power steering cooler if so equipped.( if you have headers the oil cooler may not work( you could sell it if that is the case)
2. check on the Y-pipe( it should be 3" unlike your stock one) I don't think it is on the 92' though.
3. Check on the trans for the 1st gear lock out bracket( u might want it)
4. check the alternator( 140 vs 100 amp)?
5. How many miles on the car?
( HD springs on 9C1's ?)
6. This is a stretch( camshaft on 9C1 was more aggressive( will it fit a 305?)

If the price is right, the upgrades may be worth your time.

It couldnt hurt swappin the rear... do you have a open rearend? If the other is posi get it. Pulling the engine wouldnt be a bad idea, if the block is still there, it could be a fun rebuild. If you could get the front bumper off Ill give you some $ for it...I live in Chicago area also. [email protected]

I need the whole front clip cause of an accedent .The donor car has almost 300k on it and the engine has locked up.I'm taking everything from the fenders to the bumper including the hood for my car until i get my cowl hood i need the rear-end because mine is making a bad grinding noise so i might as well take that to plus it has a 3.42 in it so thats a plus.I dont need any of the interior parts but i'm going to strip it anyways and dye it black and use my original interior as a back up . I was realy looking for a 94-96 caprice and was going to do a chassis swop but i dont feel like messing with all the wiring since my caprice is the top of the line model i dont wanna mess with all the extra bells and whistles. . If you guys have anymore suggestions i would like to hear them.

Thanx for the help/David-Chicago
