Does anyone know how come the 9C1 did not receive the firewall insulator pad that the Impala SS has. It is mainly covering the drivers side at the back of the engine. I recently noticed that I didnt have one while admiring the cars at Impalafest and I want one! I guess GM figured the 9C1 didnt need it, is there any beneficial purpose of it?

Cuts down on noise. I've driven stock 9c1's and SS's, the SS's were quieter during acceleration. Wish mine had one, I like quiet.
