I own a 1986 bone stock 60,000 mile Caprice
we had since mar 2000. With handycap plates
the exshaust is good but will like duals on it. If I go too a muffler shop (localy). What
should i tell them how and what is the best way to do it. RESONATOR? Don't know.
Respectfully Mitch

Well......correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the 91-96 b-bodys built on mainly the previous generation's frame and suspension? If that were true, it seems like most any cat back exhaust would work, as long as the exhaust outlets on you car match up (behind the manifold i mean) Again, this is just an idea so correct me if I'm wrong! Oh by the way I'm in Wa too! Seattle to be exact......

Mitch, if you go to a reputable exhaust shop they will tell YOU the best way to do it. They are the professionals. The only thing I would suggest, before you go, think about what sound you want, throaty, loud, a rumble, explain to them how you want it to sound they will help you in the decision on the right mufflers. Keep in mind, the louder the exhaust is on the outside of the car, the louder the inside is going to be.

Good luck!

Eh, mufflers are for wimps. J/K.

Since you have dual catalytic converters, you can legally have true duals, this is good.

You can buy an exhaust system and take it to the muffler shop and tell them to put it on, or you can just take your car to the shop and tell them to put on a dual exhaust.

Let us know what you end up doing and how it turned out.

Any of the cat-back systems for an Impala SS will fit a 96 Caprice, assuming you have the LT1 engine. Same for headers and other engine pieces.

BTW, what the he** does handicap plates have to do with anything?
