My wife has a 91 Caprice Classic w/LO3 (305) it is our third car. I plan on buying a vette soon and would be driving the Caprice during the winter. My first problem is it is shaking in between shifts. It first started between 45 and 55 mph but now does it in between all shifts, if I let off the gas a little it will shift and stop shaking. Car has 128,000 miles so what could be the problem, do I need a new tranny? Eventually I want the car to look like a bad ass Impala SS but that is years away and by then I'll want it to look like the 91 caprice classic it is LOL!

Hello and welcome to the community!

The problem you are having may be the torque converter. When they go start to go bad they can produce just the sort of symptoms you are describing.

When is the last time the transmission was serviced? It's possible that a fluid change and new filter might cure the shaking.

Just a couple of things to check out. Anyone else have any suggestions? Ed?

Welcome to the club!

A fluid & filter change may help indeed, I assume you've checked fluid level and condition (should be red or slightly brown, not dark brown and smelling burnt)
If that doesn't help, get it checked by some transmission shops (try to get it looked at by several different shops. Some shops solution to every problem is an overhaul =$$$)
