get rid of the cat and/or stock muffler(exhaust pipe is cheap and so is a glasspack or turbo muffler)
remove the silencer inside the plastic filter housing that is on the throttle body
remove all the airbox except what is on the TB and holds the air filter in
when racing pull the filter and throw it in the trunk(remember to put it back in)
have the engine temp as cool as possible during the runs
that is all i can think of... i put in a much bigger radiator to keep cooler, got rid of my muffler altogether, removed the silencer, put in a high flow cone air filter, and some 245/60 ta's to improve the traction and the car is MUCH faster than it was stock.
