In my highschool we've got these rice lovin kids... hondas, mitubishi, acura, etc... today we went out to lunch and on the way back one of my buddies pulles up on my side and gives my a four-banging rev. What do i do, i rev back with twice as many cyliders. (very intimidating) We hot rod, and rice, around town and come up on a stop light. I look over, he gives a thumbs up and revs twice... all i do is nod. Red turned to green and i let him build his self-esteem by staying slightly behind him, then i crush all of his dreams and floor it, i'm sure you guys can relate and know exactly what happened, I wasted that rice. the two lane road merges into a one lane and he pulls up behind me at the next stop sign. To prove my victory i light 'em up and white smoke the whole corner and take off. Looking back all i saw was two tail lights and the rest of the car engulfed in smoke, laughing with my friends in my car we return to school and wait for the rice to arrive. he gets out and said he had to wait minutes for the smoke to clear to see if any cars are coming before he could pull out of the stop. I'm so proud.
sorry about the extremely long story, just thought you guys would enjoy another point on our scoreboard against ricers.
got any other stories, POST 'EM

One time at a stop light near the truck stop in my town, this kid with a Honda Civic (usual body kit, huge wing, neons, sound system that'll wake the dead...) pulls up next to me with his car full of his friends.

They roll down the window (Mine's already down with my elbow sticking out) and start callin' me grandpa (this was in my 1987 Caprice Police Package). So I look at them, shake my head, and give them the Ceasar "Thumbs Down" gesture then look back at my friend in the passenger seat and nod with a big smirk on both of our faces. They of course, telling me that I was going to be left in the dust... had no clue what they were up against.

Light turns green, and I floor it. 8 Cylinders of pissed off Chevy Small Block roar to life as my car easily pulls out ahead of theirs. I look in my rear view mirror only to see their car getting smaller and smaller. I come to the next stop light and ease to a stop. They pull up next to my car, and I look over. Every person in the car (cramped up as could be) had a look of utter surprise on their faces... sorta like you would've expected of the French when Nazi Germany rolled right over their defenses. Their window was still rolled down, so I, being the jerk that I am said, "Care to try again?", to which the Driver immedietly responded "NO!"

I've not had ONE ricer attempt to race me in the SS They always pick on me when I'm driving the Contour. I've even had a Benz S-class race me in the Contour. I did race a friend's 1997 Audi A8 with my SS and won by over a car length. He changed the car's automatic transmission to be trip-tronic and also installed paddle shifters to shift manually. According to him he lost because he was just letting the car shift naturally. *shrug* I hardly consider an Audi to be "rice" though.

i was driving down a long straight main road and I heard a rumbly exhaust then a lincoln mark whatever rolled by, you know the 5.0. I stomped it and blew past... I've never really 'raced'. the lincoln def. wasn't a ricer.

Heres one that just happened 2 nights ago on the freeway at about 1-2 am....

Cruising back home off of the 101 to the 60 loop a little red rice burner hauls buns up to me and starts riding my a$$, so I simply punch around a couple cars and slow down so he could catch back up. So we line up and go.......lets just say I didn't get pulled over cause the cop wouldn't of been able to see or catch me but the loud a$$ red prelude is always an eye catcher to the cops, but a 4dr white grandpa car with a veteran plate isn't

being a die hard honda lover iam owning 2 now. my old car was a swapped accord wagon, it was respectable by stock honda stardard, by no means was it fast, nor was i diluted to the "it's a honda, so it must be fast." theory. i put this car together for my enjoyment which i had alot of. to this day i miss the ol' girl. sure it ran at best a very high 13 on it's best day, but averaged a mid 14 1/4. but it was still a slow honda. mind you she remained cosmeticly stock, besides the lowered stance. i cant flame hondas or imports w/o taking a shot @ myself in some form or another.

i don't get any takers/fakers w/ the hoopty like i used to get w/ the wagon.

i repect the right way to mod a car, but i hate ricers. body kits, stupid top fuel wings, rolling w/ 89 fwhp doing chirpies from the line "'caus it hooks up."

bleh...i'm done.

Exactly, Imposstor... THere's a difference between import/sport-compact cars and "ricers." Some of the sport compact guys I know are into the 11's and 12's with completely stock looking street cars, and that is cool no matter what you drive!

On the other hand, there are the cars that are actually slower than stock because of all the extra body-work and wings and 18" wheels (wheels are the BIG thing that make them slower... 1lb on the tire is worth 10lbs in the car...) I've smoked several of these guys in my bone stock '87 bonneville with black steelies, and a couple in my '92 Euro, but it's just got the 3.1 and isn't good for anything but daily driving...

Me, I'm generally a GM guy, or at least mostly american stuff, except bikes... My honda's almost as american as a Harley or Buell, and the only of either bike I'd even consider owning is a Street Rod (good for H-D, but still slow and ill-handling by japanese standards) and the Buell Ulysses. The only problem with the Buell is that people are talking about some of the XB series going through shifter drums and stuff at 10k miles or so, and that's only about half of what I ride per year, plus they're pricey...

THere is something about sitting on top of something that weighs 700lbs including me on it, and has 150horsepower (CBR1100XX if anybody's into bikes)... I've pretty much given up on making cars fast, especially daily drivers... especially when I have a 10-second bike that, not only did I pay $2600 for, but asside from standard maintanence, the bike's good for 200,000 miles if you beat on it, or 400,000 miles if you're nice to it (courrier in GB put 410k on his '98 and sold it still running and still burning less than 1 qt in 3,000 miles), gets 50mpg, is good for 1,000 mile days, and/or getting a knee down at the track...

I'm to the point where I won't even race anybody on the street... If it's a car that is N/A and has street tires on it, I'll win... It's not even worth proving it, especially when first gear runs out at 75mph and second runs out at 105... It just gets too dangerous to race in any place that's not a road in the fields in the middle of nowhere... My friend with the mid-10 second, pretty stock looking Talon is the same way... For him, it's not worth proving he's faster than someone that you already know is no contest anyway, especially when it is just more wear on an already pretty maxed out engine... He seems to be getting about 20k miles out of a rebuild, and a bit less if he races all the time, so he tries to drive it sanely when he drives it...

I don't know... I just don't see the point I guess... Even when I take the blackbird to the drag strip, it's about being able to ring out the bike in a semi-controlled environment, not about whether you're faster than the other person...

I was at a light where ahead the two lanes would become one. The person in the right lane (that would end) had a BMW and a vagina. She thought those two entitled her to run ahead of me and crowd me out when her lane ended. After all, what could a lumbering old Chevy wagon be compared to her german car, and her vagina. She neglected to do her homework, and when the light changed, I paced her as she went faster and faster to crowd me out. When the look on her face changed to panic, as the road ahead was ending for her, I stomped my right foot, where upon my refrigerator white, 1995 1A2 leapt ahead and allowed her to swerve into the only remaining lane, mine. I'm sure some poor BMW dealer guy got an earful about some poor pos chevy passing her. Imagine! The Nerve! Didn't I know she had a BMW and a vagina, and therefore an inalienable right to select her lane before anyone else could?

ricers and sport-compact...
There are a few cars that i'm almost embarrased to say i like. the first is the supercharged VW bug. that is one haulin' and tiny car. takes turns like no other. and the second, my bosses supercharged eclipse... (very ricy) it's a 5 spd (v6?) i think and is way quick, not fast, but quick. but i agree with the difference between rice and sport-compact/tuners.
