I wrecked my 95 lt1 civi caprice in the rear. It was a beautifull car with low miles and one "old man" owner. I'm going to find another 95 with a blown motor or something, and swap everything from my car (engine/interior/etc). I was told by a mechanic that it would be easy, as all the wiring is the same, and he could just unplug/unbolt everything and swap it out. That way I'd still have a clean title, but it would still essentially be "my car".

Would the wiring be the same on my LT1 civi as a civi without the LT1? what about mine vs. the 9C1?

Or would I have to find another LT1 civi? what about the year?

thanks

P.S. here's the pics of my wreck.
P.S.S. My insurance is covering NOTHING, that's why I've devised this plan.

Here is a project: Find out if it is possible to bolt on a 94-96 Caprice front end, hood, fenders, headlights, bumper, to a 94 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham. Think about it, same motor, radiator, core support, only difference is a stretch in the frame for the wheel base, it should be possible to figure something out. The fenders are good on my car, all you need is the core support, hood, grille and bumper, now the bumper should be the same shape and bolt right on, only differences are in appearance, I could be wrong.

Would make for a neat looking car.

A motor swap should be possible providing the existing wiring will connect up to an LT1,if the wiring is long enough. Also, there is the PCM that would have to be swapped out and your old one put in.If the wiring from an LT1 differs from a 4.3 then you're looking at swapping the harness too.
I could be wrong.
I'm sure seasoned guys on here would know more than me.

see my sig.

People make WAY too much over the 9c1 vs. civi vs. SS thing and way way too much over the L99/LT1 differences.

Same wiring harness just swap the engines and the ECM's 94 to 96 rearend will have to be cut from those years where as on the front end 91 to 96 will work for the front
