Has anybody noticed the large enthusiasm with 9c1 owners generating the "cop" image? It's like a new style out there and im' part of the movement. Headlight flasher, strobes, rear deck lights, police wheels give it that authoritive unmarked look. This movement is contributed with people that have pride, power, and responsibility. Screwing around with a copped out ride can get you in trouble if you' ain't smart. The fun is getting the right of way, authority to speed, attention grabber and motorist pants pisser. Parking up at the local convenience store alone gets enoough attraction. a sure conversation starter at parties and weddings.

Just wondering are there any people out there reading this that are part of the movement? Show me your colors, what you got hooked up to your beast? I've got two radio antennas, tall trunk CB, cell phone anetnna, rear reflective tape job, front wig-wags, rear brake reverse wig-wags, rear deck lights, alternating white deck lights, alternating front signals, police console with switches and flashlight.

My car was stolen ... while I slept.
Partially as a theft deterrent (?), my girlfriend is adding options 6J6, T53, and a cornucopia of mods (lights, sirens, antennae, tinted windows, etc.) so that her car CAN do a perfect impersonation of a police car responding to an emergency. We have each guaranteed one another that the only way we will actually use this "POWER" is if there is an actual EMERGENCY (blood, or something like that).
Her car is a retired Vermont State Police Car, and she decided that it will live out its retirement proudly, as a 9C1 in FULL 9C1 DRESS. Twenty years from now, people will look at her car and say, "That's what Caprice Classic police cars looked like, before Chevy killed the Caprice."
Pimpin' black 15" N97 rims for life.

how you guys doin?
My 94 9c1 is a retired unmarked highway patrol car that I have left just as I got it: Takedown light, antennae on the roof, stock wheels, etc. When I bought the car, the Police dept. insisted on removing the lighting and sirens but I really don't mind. I don't mess with people on the road
(that much) but I do love the respect I garner on the highway.

I have a stock 96 SS. Just driving down the fast lane (daylight hours) at an accessive amount of speed with the headlights on seems to move people right out of the way! Here in CA the highway patrol used black and white 9c1's and still have a very few left in service. You gotta check the frustrated quick glance of the driver your going by when he realizes its not chp but a BBB SS. I think wig wags would command more respect but I dont even wanna know what the penalties for that are!

Just don't get too carried away impersonating a police officer.. In Michigan its a FELONY with a 3 year prison sentence.

Sure you can have your fun impersonating one for a while.. Then when your in prison your butt cheeks will be impersonating BuBBA's girfriend.

Its legal to have the stuff on the car. SOME OF IT. But its not legal to use it on the public roadways.

Exactly man. Have your fun but have it responsibly!! It's not worth getting into trouble with the law so play it smart, safe and conservitive, keep your hands off the wig-wag switches!! Especially after a lowered honda civic pumping dance beats desrespectfully cuts in front of your authoritve 9c1 without any concern. Just drive gently, calmly and enjoy your ride while other maniacs risk there insurance and vehicle.

I've got older freinds 32-42yr olds with 93' and 94 caprice. Ones got a white 93 9c1 with orange-white rear deck strobes, reverse light and front corner strobes, rear deck arrow stick between two orange dashlasers, black front pushbumper, 3 trunk antennas. He uses his vehicle for voluntary roadside help and rescue for a towing company. He can actually put his lights to use!

My other freinds got a golden 93 9c1 with the 94-96 Cap wheel covers, high beam wig-wags, red and orange rear deck lights and tall trunk antenna. He's also got a white 94 with the same rear deck setup, 2 mini roof antennas and trunk antenna. He works for security. These guys are very kind, carefull, and responsible with thier machines. Very good role models. If you go out there driving like a maniac, squeeling tires and hitting speeds you are endangering yourself, licence, and your ride. Trying to pull people over is too much of risky charge and you got no life trying to do that stuff.

I know of only five people including myself in Toronto that are police 9c1 enthusiasts. It would be definatly cool to start a club between us. Just one of my 9c1 fantasies. I'm a freak!!

Cool

Well, now, ain't this a surprise. Finally got some people freakin' out on their 9C1's. I bought mine last September, and I have put 38,000 fun and interesting miles on it. I've been pulled over a few times. One time for no reason at all, the cop asked me if I had ever pulled anyone over. I said, "Only my friends". He laughed and said get the hell out of here. My car was a South Saint Paul squad from Minnesota. I took it back and talked to an older cop. He remembered driving it! He said he wishes they still had them instead of those gutless Fords. So anyway, my car came with just rear flashers and a lot holes. I installed wig-wags, a push bumper, PA-300 siren with 100 watt speaker, VHF and UHF antennas on the trunk and brake light delete(used at night when passing a speeder- they always look for brake lights in the rearview). Other mods include a Z-28 cluster and soon to be installed T-56 six speed. Other than that, my posi is shot and the engine overheats once in awhile. But it's a blast-I wouldn't want anything else! Al
