I am currently changing my water hoses and am having a difficult time getting the factory clamps off of the heater hoses at the fire wall. Does anyone know of an easy way? Should I route the heater hoses the same way as the factory? It seems to be a non practical way of doing it.

A pair of lineman's pliers work well, however, there is a specialty tool to remove those clamps. Cannot remember the name of it, but I think I saw one on a rack at a Sears Hardware and Tool center.
