I just got done reading sneezing lobster's post, so I now have to courage to post something myself. First, I also am a Caprice oholic! My grandma's 92 caprice (don't laugh) was the one to get me hooked back when i was 15 years old. She let me take it to the store for a quick milk run and boy was I impressed!! (I was driving a 1985 Nissan 4x4 truck, so bear with me) I let my very heavy foot down on that cherry 12,000 mile 305 and took off like a bat out of hell. I was hooked! My chance to get my own came when I was stationed in Kings Bay, GA in 2000. I saw a beautiful 1991 Caprice Classic decked out! the only option it did not have was the factory alarm. The owner bought it off his friend to use as a trip maker. This car had 145,000 miles on it and I cringed just thinking about the abuse this thing has gone thru. I took it on a test drive anyway and saw that the miles were nothing more than trip miles because my grandma's cappy came back into memory! Well, 3 years and 180,000 miles later ( hey, El Paso is quite far from the east coast on leave)I have put dual exhaust with full length headers and high flow cats. I went with some quiet sounding cherrybomb mufflers so I can creep up on the rice burners once I have the engine and tranny work done to it. I also installed a MSD ignition box and coil with 8.8 Accel wires. Running under the stock airbox is a K&N filter. exterior wise the only thing its got are clear lights in the back and corners. So after this very long and dry history behind me, here is my question. I was directed here from a good friend belonging to unyissco form New York. I showed him the street trend air dam and roll pan from somewhere else. He said they are quite expensive and that he could get them at half price thru a group purchase. How does this work? I would love to get these bumpers and stuff (can't right now though, just left the Navy and I'm between deadend jobs while waiting to be accepted to sheriff academy) but how can I get them thru a group purchase. I'm pretty sure its self explantory, but I want to make sure of it. Well, thats it. You had to go thru all of that just to say, well, that was a dumb question. Doh! Anyway, I love this site and believe I am going to live here as long as I can afford to, lol. Cya and long live the B Body!

what headers did you use in your '91? any clearance issues?? did you have to cut into frame any or anything like that?

about the group purchase, basically its when you get a group of people to buy a certain product all at once. since vendors like big orders like that, they will usually offer a discount. havent really been a part of one, but thats what they are

Hiya,

The headers I used were from flowtech that are for a 89 Caprice I believe. They were just the plain black ones. The mods I had to do were just to drill holes for the air lines and weld fittings on the passenger side only. I thought the air lines go into both manifolds, but I guess I was wrong. Anyway, later on after drving the car, I found that the headers are about an 1" longer than the frame. Didn't find that out until I went over my first mountain of cement they call a speed bump . I never really had problems with them except when it comes to speed bumps that even God can't destory. Other than that, they fit great and even changing spark plugs are not as bad as I thought it was going to be. Once I get the air bag suspension that I want should take cake of the speed bump problem. Cya later.
