CAPRICE ON EBAY Found this toda while still looking for a Caprice. Price is good but what do you all think about the engine swap w/ a 94 LT1? He says the engine had only 76k+ miles, but is there any way of really knowing? I think the car has 230K orig. miles, is that too many? Let me know yalls opinion please.

Thanks

NO I WANT IT! actually it doesn't sound too bad. you can't find much for $2000. especially when your looking at somethin like this. if you got the money do it. i'd love to have a white 9c1/lt1 to set off my black 9c1. you should prbly ask him for more pics too. looks like he's tryin to sell the car without anyone lookin at the inside. might be a mess. if you want a real deal that you could work on the one guy i saw has b-bodies for like $800. not to bad but nasty inside. man i talk too much!

Thumbs down

Seeing that it was used as a taxi, I'd give it a pass. Photos tend to hide a car's flaws, so it won't look any better in person. With a buy it now price of $ 2k, you would be better off grabbing a car for slightly more that isn't so worn. Let's face it--if it were in good shape, the seller would probably still be running it as a taxi.

Good luck, and try to avoid a car you can't personally check out before buying.

A Caprice that is used as a taxi and used by a police department (I'm guessing the Chicago police department because the seller put Chicago as his location), then that most likely got the ever living **** beat out of it.

You couldn't pay me enough to buy a Chicago car. Not only is rust a MAJOR concern, but the cars here all run like crap. a MAJORITY of the cars I see have crappy paint, miserable sounding engines, and shot brakes. Buy an Arizona car like I did. I only paid 1000 more than that for a 96 9c1 in fantastic condition
