I know most will get a kick out of this.I went to a bar last night in grand rapids,(where I live) and saw a 1991 STOCK body! With all the IMPALA SS markings. It was a brugandy one( I think the street was dark). He had the stock mirrors and stock rear quarter windows and stock grill and BIG chevy hood orniment and yet spent the money investing into the impala ss rear roof post emblems and trunk key hole emblem! It was hallarious!I dont think he knew what he was doing.I mean he knew enough that they were the same body style BUT not enough to change the grill and dump the big hood emblem for the LT1 hood badge. It was kinda ghetto"ized" too.BUT,to each his own,I just hope he dont frequent this forum!lol...It made me chuckle as soon as I saw it.I told the buddy I was with that I bet he goes around and tells every one its a Impala.I didnt think to see if he at least took the caprice lettering off the car....

OK,OK,I didnt mean to sound like a @$$,I just thought it was comical. He might have been changing it into a clone but the neighberhood it was in is ghetto so I assummed a kid owned it that just baught that big of a car to "pimp" it.But who knows?I didnt mean to sound like I was down playing him or his car.I just though BEFORE some one put the emblems on their 1991 they would do some body work on the quarter glass or at least buy the inserts and impy quarter glass. And get the grill etc. thats all.

That is pretty funny, Capricedriven. I've seen so many jokers around like that. In fact, I remember sitting at a stoplight next to some kid in a Caprice with the Impala emblems, but everything else looked stock, down to the hubcaps. He kinda gave me the nose up like he didn't realize what I had under the hood. I just laughed at him as I went sideways around the corner!

We do have a guy in BADASSofNE who has a '91 that he's dressed up to look like an Imp - actually did the grill and rims too - but is working to make it a mover and not just a looker. He still takes a little ribbing though...

Cheers,
Jeff
