Well, I went to Pep Boys to see what the circular 14x3 air cleaners looked and costed like. A basic looking one is 25 bucks, an Edelbrock basic one is 35 and a really cool looking one is 70, which is too much if you ask me. Anyways, I looked at the tiny selection of circular K&N's they had, and I found one that was a little too small and one that was a little too big. I was wondering, does anyone know what the official size is of the filter or, even better, what the part # is so that I don't have to go and look through their catalog.

Just so you know, I don't believe a standard round air cleaner will fit on the car because of the relationship of the TBI to the cowl, ie no room at the rear.

I read in some post that not only will it fit, but that since the TB size is the same as the 5 1/8" carb, it will slide right on, as for fitting, I don't really want it for all the time because I will just put it on for shows for now.

Carnutt, in my experiences, I usually buy the cheapie chrome 14" air cleaners just for the simple fact that they don't have any extra logos stamped on them (i.e. Edelbrock, K&N, etc.) and IMHO, they just look better plain. Anyhoo, the last one I bought from Jeg's I believe, then ordered the 14" air filter element(K&N) in whatever height you want. It IS a snug fit. I put the base on first, then put the lid on the filter itself since it fits tight inside of it, then drop the filter and the lid over the stud and there you have it! HTH! Rahn

Hey, thanks Dave! It looks a little bit different now, but not by much. About the only VISUAL difference between the pic and the current look is that I've painted the door posts black so it will look like one big long window down the sides. I did recently (read FINALLY) install my Blazer overhead console. Turned out pretty good. Hope to have some pics to share of it soon. Thanks again! Rahn
