Can a 1991 computer on a 305 be reprogramed?i mean for ike a performance gain?Or not until rearend gears are changed?I was just courious.(And finnaly remembered to ask.).

yes, there is a PROM chip in your ECM that you can swap.

you can burn chips, but its not really easy (or at least as easy as using LT1Edit for the LT1's). you have to have a device to physically read and burn the chips. then you need a program to read/burn the info on the chip. another program to edit the files.

I have a Hypertech thermomaster chip for sale if you are interested. I used it in my 1992 5.0 Caprice for four years before taking it out, as I was getting it ready for sale. The sale of my car didn't work out and I haven't bothered to put the chip back in. Send me an e-mail if you are interested.
