factory air shocks

My '96 Roadmaster has factory air assisted rear shocks with a pump up front and a ride height sensor on the rear upper control arm. This system still works but
I would like to install shorter springs front and rear. I'm sure it can just be disconnected and new shocks installed but I'm wondering if the ride height sensor car be remounted so it works with the new ride height? It would be nice to load up with passengers and stuff in the trunk (with shorter springs) and not have the Buick bottoming out.
