Question Repairing Rear Air Ride Lines?

Checked the archives, didn't find much.

As a result of the flappy exhaust that was discovered a couple weeks ago...

... The exhaust came in contact with the stock air hard line near the shock and melted it. While I know I can ostensibly use a Monroe AK29 or Gabriel 141099 kit to completely replace the line, what's involved in changing the line? Is there a connector at the back or does the line have to be run all the way to the front?

Also, is there some sort of air line splice connector that can be used? Other than the manual fill T-connector that comes in the AK29 or 141099 kit?

Any other advice on doing this repair would be appreciated. Thanks!

Mine wore a hole soon after buying it, and the dealer used a splice piece with teeny tiny compression fittings. Slick as snot but cost $100. I had to threaten nuclular action if they didn't remove the 'automatic' $70 diagnostic hookup charge though.

But I digress.

Otherwise, I changed from the oem Monroes to generic Gabriels for a short while before ditching air shocks altogether. Gabriel has/had an extra kit with fittings to adapt from the 'series' oem design to the parallel Gabriel hosing. Also, I recall I still had to go through an AZ's collection of Dorman boxes to find a special brass coupling I needed to keep compressor operation.

So, some sort of union then. Hm.

Not planning on any tobacco consumption.
