How does the stock SS suspension compare to the police upgrades? Is there much of a difference?

Thanks

The Impala springs are lower. The 9C1 springs are alot highter but the spring rate to the 9C1 is more. The 9C1 has all body bushings installed when the Impala is missing some. The sway bars are about the same. The Impala got decarbon shocks (Whatever those are)

Basically nothing special, they got taller springs for clearance, but the height moving the COG up means that even if they are stiffer handling will suffer some, available Bilstein shocks but those would be long gone even if the car was ordered with them. Then for 96 they had a heavier duty lower balljoint and the spindle and control arm to make that fit, but as long as you don't neglect the car the smaller ones used on the 95 and back 9C1 and all civi cars is just fine, guys AutoX on them it doesn't get much rougher on suspension than that.

All in all a cop car is a stripped civi car with a few things changed to meet fleet specs, NOT a super car any more than the rest of the b,d-bodies.
