i want stiffer springs. i need better handling. i'm contemplating swapping in the global west fronts with some 1a2 wagon rears. will this be too 'raked', or relatively similar to stock 9c1 stance? is anyone running this setup? i do not mind "nose-bleed" ride heights. in fact, in a world of paint-chipped-off-the-nose imports, i think a heigher stance distinguishes the american automobile. on the other hand, i don't want my car to look like it's mooning other cars, either (well, maybe a little). thanks.

I just installed that combo two weeks ago. Want some measurements? I failed to do that on the install, and you will give me a good excuse.
There is some rake - more than I would like, but not too objectionable.

Caprice Height to middle of fender wells

9C1 stock
Left Front 29 3/8
Right Front 29
Left Rear 28 3/8
Right Rear 28
GW front SW rear
Left Front 28 3/4
Right Front 27 3/4
Left Rear 28 3/8
Right Rear 28

I can't find the ST measurements at the moment, but they are around here someplace. They'll turn up after a while, but this is what you wanted anyway.

I couldn't get the spacing worked out on that chart - I hope you can make sense of it.

I only made the change two weeks ago and have not had the car out that much. Just enough to run the fuel low enough to change fuel pump and sender. I have a road trip to North Carolina scheduled in two weeks - then I'll know for sure.
That said - so far I like it. I have the boxy style Bilstiens, so it is stiff, but turns the corners like gang busters. I also have the F-car front and HA rear bars. I am cautious of the oversteer issues of this combination, but so far so good. I can not quite get the recommended 4 degrees of caster on the driver's side. Ran out of space, so in early May we are going to put in an offset control arm and new upper bushings while in there.
Wife.com's stock 9C1 seems a little woosy after a ride in mine. I think I like it that way, but have to hedge until I spend more time with it. I had a year of the ST and those ride and handle nice, but are too low for around town driving.

FWIW with ST:
Left Front 26 1/4
Right Front 26 3/16
Left Rear 25 7/8
Right Rear 25 7/8

See I knew I would find them.

YMMV Terry
