Just did sway bars on the 79 Catalina and it's 150% better.
Used the original 1 1/8" front bar from my 91 wagon with Polyurethane end link bushings.
Used a junk yard 92 1" sedan rear bar with Cadillac hardware.
current cost- $18 for end link kit, both bars were left over from the wagon project.
Wanted to ask if the Impala SS springs would work on the older Catalina and how much it would lower the car?
Also I have an original 96 Impala Trans Crossmember that was to be used on the wagon but would not fit. Would this work on the Catalina as it will soon need a dual exhaust?
If anybody knows, please enlighten me.

The springs will work fine. Drop will depend on what the current ride height is...

I don't think the crossmember will work (as a bolt in). It doesn't even work in the 91-93 cars. Of course, with a little cutting, welding and drilling, anything is possible

The ride height currently is about 1" short of 4 wheel drive!
Did any of the 77-90 9C1 cars come with a dual exhaust crossmember? Would an earlier year (early 70's) work?

Hi Jay, yes the springs will work, the people that have done it report about a 1.5" drop on a boxy. The crossmember can be made to work, the left side bolts up but the right side needs an extension piece welded to the frame. On the 9C1 Yahoo list there is a guy that has done it, I can't for the life of me remember his name though. He dropped a LT1/4L60 in a boxy. There were no dual exhaust crossmembers stock from '77-'90. I've heard rumors that '73-'77 Monte Carlo pieces work, but they're hard to find. www.crossmembers.com can also furnish one, you have to call them and tell them what you are doing. This is what I'm probably gonna end up doing. HTH
