Can anyone tell me how much a 2" drop of the car is going to effect the ride and if the front wheels will hit the fender well or not. Found a nice set on ebay for a geat price.

Thanks

Which set you lookin' at? AFAIK, the sprint and global west(?) are the only ones that offer a true 2" drop with springs alone...Of course, that is if you don't count a set of two year old Eibachs!

Global West and Sprint are STIFF IMHO, but others will argue. Eibachs have a tendancy to sag over time, and Hotchkis seems to do very well, especially with a set of bags in the rear which I strongly recomend if you EVER carry people in the rear.

As far as the rubbing issue, it depends on the wheel/tire combo. Stock you will have no problems. Bigger wheels/tires CAN cause problems, but that all depends too, (completly different post) since jimmer on the forum here has his SS with 22's and lowered.

I have Sprint springs and they will sag a little. I have 255/50/17 and they rub on sharp turns.
If I had to do it over again I would go with stock impala springs myself.

I currently run the Intrax progressive springs and I did a study a while back that showed exactly how much drop they were. Turned out 1.8 in the rear and 1.25 in the front. Here's what my car looks like with them on all 4 corners

Perhaps that is the kind of stance you are looking for. Oh and by the way, 0 rub on any corners during hard cornering, sliding, or lock to lock with 275/40/ZR17 RE730's.

The springs are made by Competition Engineering. Ever heard of them or know about them? Thanks for the help.

Don't worry til they start rubbing or bottoming out in front. A good remedy for the fronts is to add the S-10 bumstops which act as added cushion to absorb any shock. I'm running cut Eibach's up front with this combo and still quite satisfied with them. I have ST springs in rear.
