Just Finished Putting Energy Suspension Bushings And Sleeves In Both My Upper And Lower FRONT Control Arms. Went To Install The Lower Arms And I Practically Had To "Beat" The Arms In With a Piece If 4x4 Block Of Wood In Order To Get Them To Align Up With The Mounting Holes In The Frame! Seems Like They Should Go In Place Easier Than This! And Yes,I Checked To Make Sure The The New Bushings And Sleeves Were Fully Seated In The Control Arms 1st Before Installing Them. Anyone Else Run Into This Difficulty When Using ES Poly Bushings In a Front End Rebuild? I Lubed The Bushings And Frame Area 1st Before Attempting The Install, It Helped a Little But Damn They Were Hard To Get In! Im Afraid That These New Bushings Are In So Tight That There Going To Be Destroyed In No Time. I Haven't Even Torqued Down The Bolts Yet And The Control Arm Can Just Hang There Horizontally And Wont Fall Down. They Will Move By Hand Though! Is This Correct?....Thanks...Mike

I have no experience with ES products (which is why I didn't post in the first place), but it is not uncommon to slightly bend the LCA (actually UCA, too) during the bushing install. In my experience with stock bushings, the parts usually self-align enough to work OK and live a long life, if the control arms can be moved by hand with modest force before the fasteners are torqued.
As to your question about ES???

I also had to wrestle my LCA's in after new bushings, they were truly the biggest PITA of the whole thing. However, once I got them lined up, they moved up and down fine, maybe just a little stiff.

What you experienced is normal with ES bushings. This is why it would be very difficult to install the spring using the FSM procedure with ES bushings. (It already is with factory bushings). The inner sleeve is there to prevent the bushing from getting crushed too tight between the frame "ears" to keep the control arm from rotating.
