How good an idea this is depends on how much $ he has in life insurance, and if you're the beneficiary

When you take a stock LCA off, you can hold one end in each hand and twist it. Now, imagine a 4200 lb car doing 70mph on a freeway on-ramp. That should give you your answer...

when i say local guy i mean a caprice pulled into my parking lot at work and i asked him where he got his extended Ca's because im thinking of ordering some of my own,and he said to look and see for myself.I crawled under his car and saw what appeared to be stock ca's but he said he extended and "reinforced" them himself. It looked as if he used a torch to cut them and a hobby welder to weld them back.Cant wait to see how long they last,i just hope hes goin slow in a straight line.

I guy in the club here in st. louis had another guy just box his. They look very sturdy, but are probably 2x as heavy as aftermarket ones. I can see if you extended them while filling them in with reinforcing pipe, and then even further boxing them out. Seems like a lot of trouble when BMR are proven, and not that expensive.
