I have read every single post related to these springs and as one member said..I'm more confused!

Everyone claims to have good or bad eperiances with all of them. I will be running a 295/35 18's in the rear and some people have had rubbing with 255's and lowered springs. I can't decide on one of them? I am more of a "leveled" look, but the "slight" rake wont kill me. I like the stiff feel/ride so i'm prepared for that. I dont autocross or drag race, but like to push it from time to time. I rarely have people in the back, not even once every 3-4 weeks. Trunk is empty now, but will add some subs in the future. It is my daily driver (summer only) and the Montreal roads are really not the best, pothole heaven in most districts. If i can't get my mind made up soon, i'll go with the Hotchkis, they have like a 80% "love them" rating on the forum.

What are the pro's vs. cons on the 3 lowering springs (e.g. progressive, durabilty, stiffness)
I have tried to find pictures, although many of the old posting have links that no longer work.

Last thing..if i ever got a muffler setup like the American thunder tip, where they are under the rear fender, would lowering springs be to low?

Thanks in advance for all feedback on your springs or comparisens, i have the money to buy them and am itchin to spend it, but can't make up my mind!!

Tony

It depends where you live.... if u live in tha area where they have lot of holes... or lot of speed bumps or PAIN IN ASS incline driveway__ Hotchkis for you.

If u want ur SS to have it lower and make it looks like BAS A$$ then i ll go for 2 inches. I love it.

Why dont you just get AIR RIDE? itsw more simply for you i know its lot of MULA but just let other throw their opinions... ok good luck.

Thanks,
I would really like air bags..but you said it..$$$

As for pot holes, i guess theres a few, i like the lowered look, but don't know if it's going to be to low? I would like something between the Hotchkis and the Sprints..i think that would be Intrax or H&R's right?

Thanks,
Tony

The H&Rs are in between but will give your car a rake look (rear end sits up higher than front)

I'd go with the Hotchkis. Especially if you found around 80% satisfaction. I love mine, and to tell you the truth, I wouldnt mind a slightly lower look. But I wouldnt give up my springs now.

I ride them hard pretty often, do put people in the back often, and also have subs in the trunk. They feel real good still.

But then, you will want sway bars!

Thanks guys,
Is there a big difference is "stiffness" or bounce wih the Hotchkis compared to the H&R's and Intrax? Is the Hotchkis progressive?

Tony

oh ya..
will i have a problem putting the Hotchkis sway bar kit (front and back) on the lowering springs?

You shouldnt have any problems using sway bays with lowered springs. The only minor issue might be your front tire rubbing the coating off of the bar at full turn. But shouldnt be anything to worry about.

I rode on the springs for a year before I popped in the sway bars. Handling improved with both.

The kind of shocks are you using would also make a difference.

Dreams- I researched springs for over a year and finally went with Hotchkis thinking they would give me the advertised 1.3" drop in front below Impala height. Wrong. It put me down only ~1 1/8". Went from 29" to 27 7/8". The 9C1 has been in the shop twice now. They were seated both top and bottom correctly except for the indexing being corrected. Still didn't do anything. Same height in front. I was expecting at least 26 3/4-27". The rear dropped the advertised height. I'm a little disappointed considering all the rave reviews I'd read from 9C1 and Impala users.

If I had to do it all over again, I'd probably go with the STs. Next year I'll most likely cut my 9C1 fronts and have them installed to get it where I thought the Hotchkis springs would get me. Just my two cents on springs.

Thanks enigma9C1,
I have read literally every posting about all the springs and am still undecided, funny enough, at least now i'm down to 2 choices. I am mostly worried about my setup and width of tires that'll i'll be running though. I will post my dilems on the next post...

Thanks,
Tony

Good evening all,

I have finally narrowed it down to 2 choices!!!
Hotchkis vs. Intrax....

I am looking for a nice stance, leveled preferably, but not neccessary (that's why the Hotchkis is there) I have the mags and wheels ready to go into my 9C1, this is the setup.... 9C1 axle, 18X10 rear rim, 5.625" b/s with 295/35/18 tires, which should give me a total of 26" hight. I am concerned about the rear wheels and rubbing or touching in any way. I know the Hotchkis will work fine, but am unsure about the Intrax. Everyone has great reviews on both of them, just looking for some direction. Don't mind the "stiff" ride eaither. I dont drag race, nor autocross. Any feedback or advice would be so appreciated, i have the $$ to buy them, just can't make up my mind!! I hope your advice or insight will assist me in making my choice. I know Jayoldschool has the Intrax with 295's in the rear as well, just looking for more feedback and other experiances. I need help deciding between the 2, PLEASE HELP
I know the hothckis comes with all the extra parts needed (rubbers, etc..) and the Intrax don't, i guess these are able to be bought seperatly somewhere?

Thanks a bunch.

(thanks jay for all your help on this as well!!)
