Do you mean redo your front end in the "it being worn out" sense, or just some handling upgrades?
I would start with making sure all the ball joints, steering linkages, end links, and tie rods are all in good condition. That alone made a nice improvement when I did it.
Then you might want to look into some quality shocks and maybe springs to tighten up the suspension, only you didnt say if you wanted to lower it.
I didnt want to autocross either, so I went with the Hotchkis setup. It's a little stiff, but very spirited and fun to drive!
After that you may want to look into all the diff combinations out there of sway bars. But you didnt mention the rear.
I know bushings will also improve handling if your are worn. I havent touched most of mine yet. I am kind of worried about the squeaks that I read about.
