Okay guys I was wondering if there should be any side to side play in your front end. When I had my car up on jacks the other morning I could turn the tires in and out about maybe 1/2 an inch. There was no play in the steering links as it turned together with the tire. I had it up on jacks because the other day the ride just suddenly got 'rough'. It has progressively gotten worse. Is this an alignment issue? or do I have a diff. problem?

If you're unsure what front end parts have been replaced on your car, I would start by checking ball joints (mainly the lowers), and control arm bushings. As far as steering components, they're all suspect if they're of unknown age or original, especially the idler arm.

Sounds like a plan. I just priced the idler arm though. Dont have enough cash for the rest yet. Thanks for the reply though
