i just ordered a set of 2 impala front springs for my 9c1 to make it sit alittle lower than it is now. is there any way that i can shorten the impala springs (by heating them?)

You can cut them, but I do not recommend heating them. Maybe someone who has cut their coils can jump in here for exactly how much to cut off...

Zack is correct, but let me add...

DO NOT heat the springs to make them lower!!!

If you want to lower them, the best way is to use a hand saw like a hack saw or something of that nature.

Also note that you CAN'T cut, heat, or modify the rear springs in any way. HINT: What I'm also saying here is that you really don't wanna go much lower on the stock ss springs up front unless you plan on swapping springs in the rear. Cut SS springs with stock 9c1 springs will give the car a pretty substantial rake that only a select few find appealing.

Thanks guys for the info. I guess i'll just stick to the stock impala springs. its low enough.
