Question

Ok, I got the hotchkis springs for my car, and did the frame swap last weekend. I was unsure how the rear springs went in.....the closer coils on top or bottom?? I put them in so that the Hotchkis lettering was right side up(since there were no instructions, that was the logical thing to do.), and that put the closer coils on top....now my question is.....is this correct? TIA, Jason

Correct, lettering goes up.

I have a question. In the bag with the isolators and front bump stops, there are two other rubber pieces. Are these rear stops? They are some what rectangular and then pyramid shaped on top. I think the are some sort of bump stops, but there are no bolts/Hardware to mount them.

I see the stops you are talking about in the kit. I have yet to install the front springs.....but it looks like the kind of bump stop that is inserted into the bottom A arms....or into the frame on top of the bottom A arms?? They don't have hardware because notice the bottom of the rectangle...there should be another smaller, triangle shaped thing....it gets inserted into a slot. But I am not sure, as I didn't tear down the front end yet.(possibly this weekend).

There are bumpstops for both compression and rebound. Don't remember which is which (it's been a while since I did mine).

I was told that the bump stops for the Caprice were different from the SS....and that the ones you DID NOT install would be for the Caprice. Uummm.... could my source have been wrong ???

The triangular looking bump stops are for the rear of the car to replace the old rubber ones on the axle.

Kevin's got it. Triangle ones replace the rubber bummers on the rear axle. The cone shaped ones replace the front lower a-arm bumpers. The triangle ones are a bitch to install (for me anyway). I put the stock ones back in and said "the hell with it".
