i have a 9C1 caprice police package it has large sway bars not sure what size but they are pretty thick. should i just take them off and remove the dirt and clean them up and paint them or should i get brand new ones? i know i need new bushings on the bars and the whole suspension.

OK, I'll take a shot at it as your question is a bit unclear to say the least!

WHAT are you looking to do?

If you like how it handles now, just reinstall them. If you delete them, the car IS gonna handle worse.

If you want the car to handle BETTER, then aftermarket bars will help. There are quite a few options, depending on what you want to do.

BTW stock 9C1 (and SS) bars are 30mm (1 1/8") in front and 26mm (1") in back.
