I was just wondering how many / what proportion of folks have the HD 5/8 ball joints in their Impalas / Caprices / RM / FWs? I have them in both of my wagons. If you don't, did you go with the Moog HD part if you had to replace your front ball joints?

This tech article should answer a lot of your questions:

I replaced my ball joints with Moog Problem solvers and they have been great.

Good luck

I'm not sure if I am sceptical, ignorant, or cheap, but I decided to keep my 9/16" ball joints when I recently bought new knuckles.

I don't jump curbs like the 9C1'S (sceptical), never heard of an impala failure (ignorant), and think it costs alot (cheap)*even though I am the last to skimp on safety*.

If I have tire come through the front fender I will eat my words.
