Fred, I guess we will have to disagree on this. I would like to reference the site again. http://www.dynamicefi.com/EBL_Flash.php second item under Highlights states " Fully user programmable. This page also states ECM that can be converted 16136965. That is the same I have from my 9C1. I wish Rocko350 would come in here and maybe settle this one way or another. (If he's still around) I can admit to being mistaken. Here is another post from awhile back that supports my stand on the Dynamicefi mod. https://www.impalassforum.com/vBulle...chips-92s.html Post #2. I do enjoy a lively friendly discussion. It reminds me of my grandfather & uncle discussing politics. Best my Friend.

I ran EBL in my 89 Caprice that had a vortec heads. I recently pulled the engine and have a bunch of stuff for sale, EBL carb hat, 454 TBI, etc. EBL is a really nice package especially for those that haven't "tuned" before. The other option is to upgrade to a 93-96 PCM which will run a 4L60E/4L80E. EBL hasn't been released for the later PCMs yet however so the learning curve will be steeper.

I plan on going EBL. And still need intake, tbi adapter, injectors, carb hat for cold air intake. I have an 18 psi fuel pressure spring. I have a L05 prom to start with. I have the stock LT4 cam installed and waiting on scorpion 1.5’s in mail to measure pushrod length. My TBI unit is smoothed out for flow

Indy, The stock intake isn't all that bad and it's aluminum. Be sure to check the mod I previously posted and save some DOH!!! As Fred stated you would have to do more mods to the after market intake than the stock one. And too, Fred has the caddy hat and is very well rated on his products and shipping. Fred also has the LT1 evap canister bracket to relocate the can when you do the CAI.

GM makes an intake for the Vortec heads, but it is $400. You still need to ream out the distributor hole. A standard distributor is not removable when the intake is installed.

The stock intake will NOT fit the Vortec heads.

The Caddy hat installation has some long term issues. When using the sewer pipe, with the hat, it will deform over time, and slip out of the connectors. The input for the Caddy hat is oval, and nothing fits it well. I have one for sale, but have determined that I will not use one again. The nut for the post will also "weld" itself to the post, and you will not be able to remove it in the future. The injector tower will interfere with the insides of the Caddy hat if you want to position it so that you can properly position the intake tube (it sits on the Caddy TBI in a different position compared to the B-body). I had a Caddy hat on my LO5 for a few years, and had difficulty with it. I do not recommend the Caddy hat. Use it at your peril.

Call the guy at dynamicefi.com and talk to him about your install. He can best advise you on how to proceed. He sedms to be a nice guy, and is helpful.

Unique looking crankshaft pulley cover. So what direction are you going with the wheels?

Another option is to swap your ECM to a PCM typically found in 95 and later model trucks, SUV's and vans with a TBI motor. There may be other PCM part numbers but the most common one is '7427. It's requires moving some wires around in the connector that plugs into the pcm. But it's easy to do if you have the right pick tool made for those connectors.

https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/tbi/...rting-tbi.html

BTW the thirdgen TBI forums is a WEALTH of information on these engines.

What are you doing about the cylinder heads? I ask because TBI B-bodies have a unique conundrum where the vortec intake doesn't have the correct sized hole for the stock distributor. The stock intake doesn't mate well with the ports on the vortec heads. Add in the regular issues being the vortec heads need work to run the springs neccessary for more than a mild cam. The TBI heads flow patheticly in stock form and have a poorer chamber design.

I just finished building a TBI for my 95 Tahoe. I chose to use stock TBI heads that I moderately ported based on this guys videos (although I didn't go as extreme as him)

I used an F-body LT1 cam. Mostly because thats what I had laying around and the TBI trucks still came with a flat tapped cam that I wanted to get away from. I did no "ultimate TBI" mods, all I did was swap out injectors with 9c1 injectors again because thats what I had (I think I fried the stock injectors trying to clean them out with a 9v battery, so don't do that).

The engine runs well and definitely has more power than stock. Porting and cam moved the power up in the band a noticeable amount. The Tahoe is still a 5000lbs brick.

Project 1994 9C1 Caprice with LT1 - THAT LOOKS LIKE BK HAS WIPED HIS @$$ WITH!

I have plain steelies. I lost a 9c1 hubcap in '15 before i parked it and cant find a good one anywhere so I figured I'd drill and tap for center caps and keep it simple. too many pot holes where i live for anything fancy unless a roadtrip down south
