Alarm + Sungate = ???

I'm curious if anyone has any issues with reception/range because of the sungate & antenna placement? I just thought about that?

I have a sungate & already have to have a remote radar detector because of it.

I don't know about alarms specifically, but I believe the metal film in the sungate reduces the range on a most electronic devices.

I was using a Beltronics Vector LR Remote, but it stopped working after 8 years. So I replaced it with an Escort Qi45, also a remote.

What alarm do you have?

At least you are using good quality ones.
I run the Beltronics STi driver. I have no problem with the range when mounted on the windshield. I am also using the "Blinder Extrme X-45" for laser protection. Seems that Mich.cops like to use that more than any other kind.

I just the bought the Qi45 Shifter Pack too. About $690 into the Qi45 radar detector where I had $225 in the Vector! I just feel naked w/o my detector. Although, I've slowed/calmed down in my driving, I still like knowing where "they" are.

That is the only reason I have the equipment I have. I like the STi-Driver due to its capabilities of being undectable by their radar detector detectors.

Got the Viper 5901 installed over the weekend. I'm totally digging it. I had the installer put the antenna on top of the B pillar.

Love the remote start. On my way out to the car at lunch, I did a remote temperature check & it said it was 118f in the car! From about 200yds away and on another floor of the parking garage, it started. I gotta remember to leave the AC turned up before getting out. Also have to get used to NOT immediately putting my foot on the brake before getting the key in.

Only thing I don't like is the 1.5sec press/hold to get the trunk pop. Seems a lil excessive.

I'm working with the installer on some config options too: running lights and auto arm.
