for the 2-way paging alarms, when refering to the range they have. does that range mean:the range you are able to use the options? or the range you can rcve the 2-way info? or both?

example: say a one mile range 2 way pager alarm, and you are 2 miles away. would you just not be able to use like remote start, remote entry, etc. or if someone was trying to break into your car, it wouldnt show the info on the lcd, as the alarm going off? or does it mean ALL the info between the 2-way? thanks.

Both! The range indicated is the max it will work, which depends on terrain. buildings, hills etc....

I'm not to sure about this, I have the viper 5900 that is supposed to have a 1 mile range. I find that after about 2 or 3 blocks I can't transmit anymore but I can receive a alarm (sent by the car) for several blocks more. This might have to do with the metallic tint and the sungate glass creating faraday effect.

I hate my sungate windshield, I'm tempeted to throw a rock through and call my insurance company.
