SS Exhaust Experience

I installed Flowmaster Performance 2 1/2 system and it rumbles nicely but absolutely no drone on the highway.

I would suggest running two under the floors, and two under the rear..and have cut outs put in so you can control power and sound.

As I said in 1st post not interested in flowmasters.

Zero interest in cut outs, they're illegal here and that is just screaming to get pulled over. Which is what I am trying to avoid.

Run 2 mufflers under floor, and 2 resonators/mufflers out back in stock location. That will be quiet.

Dynomax VT's. I had a few different mufflers and settled on these. It was a toss up between VT's and Borlas - I may give the Borlas a shot, but the VT's are great. Quiet-ish but muscular around town. Floor it and they get loud. Zero drone.

1995 Caprice ERE 383, CIA long tubes, Dynomax VT's, RAISS, Kore3/Z06 brakes, 3.42 posi, Boss 338 20's, 12 way seats, Impala SS console, etc etc etc

I ordered a set of resonators, as they are easier to install than mufflers.
Welded the stock brackets to existing mufflers & welded to intermediate pipes too.

If it doesn't work as expected/hoped for then looks like the Dynomax VTs are the way to go.

Jones Exhaust resonators from summitracing
2.5" id so slip fit over existing pipes just need cut tailpipes & weld them in.
3.5" case so hopefully they clear the gas tank heat shields, but there is room to massage those if needed.

$16/each PN# A3516B-8
