95 impala ss front wheel bearing nut torque

Hi All

Does anyone know what the front wheel bearing hub nut torque should be?

12 ft lbs...BUT it is not a TQ and walk away deal.

TQ to 12 ft lbs while spinning the hub, back off till lose and by finger tighten nut so it lines up with hole for cotter pin

end play should be .001-.005 if you really want to check it that way after install. I have always just done it by feel after initial TQ, back off and then finger tight to the closest slot so the cotter pin goes through hole

Update to Rears...several years later

Nightmare replacing the rear pads and what went wrong:

Removing the piston from the brake caliper video

Inspecting the bore and piston of a disassembled unit and frozen slider pins video

I'm working on the driver side rear right now. Frozen slides I suspect.
