Engine temp sensor connector?

Does anyone have a source for a new connector "pigtail" for the engine temp sensor (the sensor between #6 and 8 plugs)?

If not, is there any reason I could not just use an aftermarket connector to one of the pins on the sensor? From looking at the old pigtail, it looks like the middle pin is just a guide as the hole in the pigtail is just plastic. However, it also looks like, from using my multilmeter, that the two pins are connected inside the sensor since I get no resistance between the two pins. So I wouldn't think it would matter which pin I connect to.

Thanks for any help or clarification.

Chain Auto part stores have various pigtails. BWD is a common supplier. Its, IIRC,1 wire

These guys should have most pigtails you would need....

Automotive Electrical Connector Pigtails, Terminals, Tools and More

If not, then maybe a donor car and you cut the pigtail off from it.
