Unhappy signal lights issue...1996

Hi guys, kind of stumped on this one. I may have had a couple of cruises this spring without any signal lights. I just discovered the issue the other night before a drive.

I have a pretty hacked up set up I think. I have the street lights up front with the clear LED corners. Motion signals in the back that used to work last season.

Right now with the park light on I have all the tail lights and the front markers operate. Brakes applied I get the passenger side 2 outside bulbs and the third upper. I have no signal lights at all.

I've checked the fuse and I have power at the breaker/flasher slot on the one side. That's where the motion setup is tapped in for juice. I added a stock flasher, pulled the power to the motion setup and nothing.

Could it be the signal switch itself?

Alot going on there, but there are some pretty crafty guys here who may have an angle of attack for you. IF your system worked entirely perfectly at at least one point in time, then could be a simple matter of a burnout somewhere. In the old days there were issues with not using the correct resistors and such.

One thing you sure should do is add a good deal more detail and background on the overall configuration - componentry, brand names, age, routing, in order to help responders make worthwhile suggestions.

I can't really be any more specific, SStreet lights out front with the Motion Signal from Jerry's running the sequential lights. This is the car Sharp96 built years ago, so this stuff has to be 10 years old I'm guessing. Assuming it was all installed properly, so I can't speak to "routing".

I had a close look at all the connections and everything seems ok. I had cleaned up a bunch of crap this winter so I though perhaps I disconnected something, but it look ok.

I forgot to mention the hazard light don't work either. I 'm thinking signal switch now.

A rather scattered pattern of symptoms, but suspect since sequentials "used to work" that the Motion thing is culprit until thoroughly proven functioning properly - or not. Instead of merely pulling power to it, best to completely sever it from the car and restore 100% oem signal wiring.

Confirm all elements work even if only hooked directly to a battery. Replace the relay if unable to prove its not original.

When I cleaned up some of the dash wiring on that car I seem to remember that the car's turn signal connector was burnt. At that time I suggested the current load was too high for the factory wiring and switch.

This does sound like a turn signal switch or wiring problem. The brake signal goes through the switch. You could unplug the harness and use a test light to check all input circuits ie brake in, hazard in and turn in. Depending on the flashers a test light may not draw enough current to get them to flash the test light.

Did it work properly after the failed LED test?

I sent you a email and got no response. I have a spare loose turn signal switch that could just be plugged in to check things. I still have the same email and phone #s(text or leave a message on the land line).

I would start by replacing ALL light bulbs. I had a similar issue years ago and a bulb that worked in one instance caused an issue in another instance. Hard to explain but bulbs are cheap (unless you're running LED's)

Only one of my halogen's (closest to license plate) in the right rear tail light and I don't have turn signals on that side anymore. Is it easy to just swap to LED? if anyone can spare information about Red LED 2057 bulbs for sale anywhere please let me know.

Ok. But important for future searchers to note not the same as the problem(s) detailed by the OP. Let's see if he ever checks back in with the solution to his issues.
