OK, and talking as a car show judge (and yes Charles, I judged your car)....
I was pretty impressed by the level of show cars this year! Some very nice cars, and it's great to see folks paying more and more attention to the "details" that win car shows.
As for what to look at : look at your judging sheet when you get it back (and a blank one is on the ISSCA website if you want to see that). Most common problems we found were :

Dirty Wheelwells.....especially up top on the inside. Run a finger just above the tire on the inside wheelwell....it should come out clean.

Dirty behind the license plate. Cheap tip (and I used this one on my car) : remove the spring (which was rusty/nasty on MOST of the cars I judged) on the license plate mechanism, and Home Depot sells one that is a VERY close replacement. Home Depot charges all of $2.....for two of them (in one package!). The new spring looks lots better back there!

Clean the interior trim around the windows. The "finger test" showed a lot of dust buildup on the interior trim around the rear quarter windows. Tint-safe window cleaner works great here, and doesn't take more than a minute or so of "extra" effort beyond cleaning your windows in the first place.

Display and Safety Items. These are 10 of the EASIEST points to get at the car show......and you'd be amazed how many folks didn't get more than 1-2 points (if that) on this one! Just find 5 safety items (i.e. flashlight, fire ext., jumper cables, small toolkit, jackstand, helmet, etc) and 5 display items (pictures, dealer brochures, ISSCA Cap, model/diecast cars, etc) and put them in your trunk. I suspect that these EASY points changed how a few cars placed in the car show!

Clean the inside of the wheels.

Clean under the floormats.

Clean the hood latch mechanism (both on the hood and the front of the radiator support)

Clean out the shifter mechanism (on a 96 SS)

Clean the underside of the rubber trim that is along the bottom of the rear window.[/list]
Just a few tips, hope these help!
