Question

Please advise when we can expect to see specific details on the various events for the ISSCA Nationals. Specifically, I am interested in how the road course, auto cross, drag race and sound-off events will be run. Will the road course be run similar to Tulsa? How many runs will be getting for the Autocross? What will the classes for the sound-off be? I would like to know the rules for this year's Smackdown and BOI. Right now, due to the lack of information on the website, I am assuming how events will be run.

Hint - Since some of the replies tend to reference how hard it is to run a national event, I'll will give you a quick hint. Please don't try to tell me how difficult it is to run a National Show given that I have run THREE events. I am intimately aware of what is required. I am surprised that this information has not been made available since the Event Website when live early February. I know we have to be at least at the 60 day mark by now. I have been checking the website every week to see if this information has been posted. But, to date, I have not seen any information.

Anxiously waiting for the details, so I can submit my registration.

Hi Carla, I can speak for the drag racing. It will be same classes as in Tulsa nats. And mostly just like Tulsa, accept we have the whole drag strip to ourselves. We have a pretty good thread concerning the drag racing at https://impalassforum.com/noncgi/ulti...;f=28;t=000078

Generally, the drag racing is going to be races for each of the 3 ISSCA classes and an all day open lane for grudge runs and as many other goofy and fun things that might be able to be fit in-between.

As with the Tulsa Nats, I see a whole lot of good teamwork among all the Vegas event coordinators, (i.e. ISSCA Directors).

That's all I can offer for info since really the only thing I know is drag racing. The other coordinators will post soon I'm sure.

I am also interested in this type of info... but I don't see why not having it would keep you from submitting your registration....

Are you thinking that if you only get 2 runs (for example) on the autocross that you won't bother going???

Chris -

In general, I believe that everyone has the right to understand the events before they get to Las Vegas. Could 2 runs versus 3 runs make a difference for me? Sure it could. If I don't agree with how the events will be structured, I can save my vacation time, save 3200 miles on the car and stay home. Additionally, for new people that might be considering attending, how can they know whether they want to do this, when the information being provided is somewhat limited.

I am not trying to be a pain. But after 60+ days of the event website being up and running, imho, I think the event coordinators should have had enough time by now to get the details published.

Cool

Hi Carla,

The road course event will be run very similar to what was done in Tulsa. The description and schedule are posted at: http://www.goissca.org/Nationals_1/road_course.htm

You should also take a look at the new Rules & Tech sheet, because the points assessed for determining class have change slightly. It is posted at:
http://www.goissca.org/ISSCA.2004.RoadRaceRules.pdf

Complete Racing Rules (Drag & Autocross/Road Course) are online at
http://www.goissca.org/ISSCA%202004D...ng%20rules.pdf

Best Regards,
