Question

I have a question for the ISSCA officers and the event coordinators. Any of the other members may also comment on this but it mainly toward the people named. This post may affect a lot of people and it may not. I registered for the I2K2 event in St. Louis about a month and a half before the show dates and had to cancel my registration due to circumstances outside of my control. I am deployed overseas in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and was supposed to return home before the event was scheduled to start. But my time was extended by the higher ups and was not able to make it and lost the monies that I paid for I2K2 registration fees. I read the cancellation policy that the event coordinators posted on their website and basically in any other case I was screwed. But due to the events of 9-11, and the call up of the Guard and Reserves and the operations going on overseas and homeland defense. I am asking that there be something put in the rule books governing events hosted by chartered clubs of ISSCA, concerning cancellation policies due to service members. I am not asking that this be done for someone that is in the service to just cancel their registration for any reason. If they have to cancel they should have to show proof of their commitment before any monies is to be refunded. This would show patriotism for the efforts and commitments towards the people that our serving our country and serving it without questioning. I looked at website for an event hosted by GaSSit and they added a clause in their refund policy for active duty members and we all should commend them for that show of patriotism. I am not asking that you do this just for me I am asking for all the members of the Armed Forces. We all need to applaud what our Military members, Firefighters, Police officers, and anyone else I can't think of are doing for us everyday. Thank you for letting me express myself. *breath*

Jamar,

"We all need to applaud what our Military members, Firefighters, Police officers, and anyone else I can't think of are doing for us everyday."

That is the exact reason why we added that clause to the GASSIT event. Being former military myself, and having many former military members in GASSIT, we understand that service people have no choice in the matter when the brass says "GO".

Stay safe, keep your head down, and bag a couple for us.

Jamar:

The first order of business here will be to contact the folks at GRAIL through their website at www.grail-ss.com . Their president's name is Jose and he should be able to let you know what can be done for you given your circumstances.

Thanks

Thanks for your assistance. How is that collar working for you. I can't wait to get home and install it and the other 2 grand worth of accessories I ordered for my car.

I emailed the president a few days ago but havent gotten a response yet. I figure they were working on the event and probably are recooperating from all the headaches involved with it.

The reason I posted it here is to get the ISSCA board members and coordinatons attention for future references in case someone else runs into a similar situation.

We have reviewed Mr. Bennett's situation and I have contacted him directly. We did not have any provisions for military personnel in our cancellation policy. I have made a note and we will definitely make that adjustment for the future. Given that Mr. Bennett's orders were changed preventing him from attending the event, we will be refunding his registration money. We appreciate all our military personnel and civil servants. We apologize for the oversight in our policy. The i2K2 committee wishes Mr. Bennett and all our military personnel a safe and speedy return home. We also thank you for your efforts to perserve our freedoms!

Thank you,
