Stock class car show question...

Hypothetically speaking, if one were to have a stock car in the stock car show class, and under the hood there are some signs of rust (due to being 16 years old) on certain items (pulleys, or brackets), would it be best to repaint the items and no longer be "stock", or leave it as-is and truly be stock?

Maintain the rust as needed/desired. Stock is based on configuration of the car as ordered/purchased new. Leaving it alone would be considered original, not stock. Judges will deduct points for rust.

Nope.

There are only a couple of items that are allowed to be changed out under ISSCA rules. They are mainly items that could deteriorate, and discontinued from GM.

If your car has a modified sound system, and little else, your car would likely go into the mild street class.

The last two words of the group of them you typed up there pretty much sums it up.
