I Came Home with Another Roadmaster

A couple of weeks ago I saw an ad on CL for this 96 RMS and went out to see it. Turns out that the old man who owned it, couldnt drive it anymore because of his age , and needed it out from under the carport in his home, down in Coral Gables.

He was the original owner, its a 96 Collectors Edition, with 120k miles, and after being there for about half an hour... we agreed upon a sales price, $800...

I paid him and towed the car home, with triple A for free.. it needed a new fuel pump.... A week later my buddy dropped the tank and put in a new pump, and it fired right up !

I also gathered front and rear SS Sway bars for it, and a set of SS Wheels. ... just need some tires for it...

As soon as brought it home, I gave it a good wash, and this color just popped ! These cars are awesome....and they can be had for next to nothing....

Sweet score. Had a 94 caprice same color. Heck even put same hood ornament on my 92 RMS haha. Looks like we got reversed colors. Just wish mine was LT powered

94 MGR L99. Met a bridge.
92 White L03. Ran to death.
94 OSP 9C1. Lawn ornament.
91 Silver L03. Whales on ice is sad.
94 Black 9c1 clone. Sacrificed.
92 DCM to flat black L03 RMW. Blowed up... twice.
96 Black Woody RMW. Cannibalized.
92 Grey RMS L05. New daily driver.

Wow congratulations. The car looks really clean. Those seats are great. Might be the most comfortable seats ever put in a car.

Thanks..
I really like the Roadmasters, I think they are tottaly under appreciated, and deserve to be much more popular than they are.. In my opinion they are the finest of the B bodies, I like them even more than the Fleetwoods, wich I love as well, however, they are just too long ...

I sold the last Roadmaster sedan I had last year, and I drove that one for a full year, it was great...

I have a 94 BBB SS, but it just gets so hot in the Summer down here in Miami... The Buicks seem to be better insulated than the Impalas And the Caprices, so I am going to get this Collectors edition into good shape and drive it around for a while now. The pics are of the car I sold last year...

I agree 100%. In the past two years I have had, 3 Roadmaster Sedans and 2 wagons, 2 Lt1 powered Caprices, and 3 Super Sport Impalas. All the Roadmasters have been Bulletproof, the SS on the other hand, big time headaches.... I haven't been able to keep any of the SS, I end up selling after 3 months... Another issue I have noticed, is that the Caprice get extremely hot in the summer, and the AC takes a while to cool them up. My Roadmasters have been much cooler, and seem to have better insulation, I havent taken one apart, so I dont know first hand, but the Roadmasters are definately much cooler.

The Ac compressor in the SS just went out on Monday... so its a pain in the ass to drive. I have it up on CL for sale... One of these days Im going to find an SS, fit for me to keep though....

I'm not certain, but I think all the 1996 Roadmasters were designated "Collectors Edition" because that was the last year of production.
