1992 Buick Roadmaster heater hose replacement

So here I am again seeking knowledge! Yes I have Googled with no joy.

I smelled antifreeze yesterday, but I was hoping it was someone else's car.

Today the leak got worse, so I guess my weekend plans have changed.

I have included a picture of the leaking hose. It goes back to the firewall near the AC evaporator, so I'm sure it's the heater hose. I've included a picture. It's leaking from the metal crimp fitting where I'm pointing to in the picture.

I cannot find this hose for sale anywhere. Does anyone have a part number for this hose?

Install pointers would also be very much appreciated.

I do not know if the hose is available. You can use regular heater hose, and get the restrictor separately. Make sure you put the restrictor on the correct direction. Hose clamps will work to hold it all together. In an emergency, you can just replace the entire unit with a piece of hose. The restrictor minimizes the amount of water going through the heater core, and can be spliced in later. It attaches to the back of the intake manifold below the edge of the distributor, and goes to the input side of the heater core.

There may be a "quick disconnect" at the firewall. They are not quick, and definitely not easy. You have to push the white nylon clip in, to release the black metal end. The white nylon stays with the heater core. There is an O-ring in the hose to seal it. You can remove the white nylon piece after removing the hose, and use a hose clamp to hold the replacement hose.

I knew that one would be hard to get to. I think I found the part, I'll see.

Rock Auto has the restrictor for $9.29-$10.98, and you can use regular 5/8 inch heater hose to complete the installation. They also have the entire assembly for $45.79.

I found an OEM replacement on eBay from none other than Hamilton Chevy. I think I'm going to go that route unless I can find something local in Ocala FL tomorrow. I'm not expecting that though...
