I think my ine looks he same... I'll get to it eventually. Is the bottom of the car as rusty as the crank pulley? My right rear floor board is pretty beat up on mine. Just take a peak atthe floor boards.. other wise te car looks fine... I would say go for it...

If you wanna see a few caddys go to e-town march 24th.. Unfortneatley i wont be there but im sure Dean (twindaddy) will be...

That Green does seam to be rather rare on a fleetwood. And looks very good, IMO. Also check the bottom rear quarter panels for rust. If the fleetwoods are anything like the caprices, and roadmasters... it's the first body panel to rust. Try to look behind the rocker chrome. Mechanically, the "weak" spots on these cars are the Water pump, Opti, and the Idler arm on the front suspension. Also, the rear air ride is known to be problematic. With lines breaking, or shocks blowing out. Most just replace them with real shocks, and a $70 set of airlifts that go inside the coil springs. I think the bare top is prefered, because the vynal tops crack, and can trap water behind them.

But otherwise looks like a pretty nice car for the money. Whats the Milage? don't let higher miles scare you. These things are known for going well past 200,000... they just need suspension fixes, and other rather minor stuff.

Good luck!

Yes, the Calypso Green is a rare Fleetwood color, and it looks terrific on that car with the light neutral. As for the top, some like it with and others without, but it's all personal preference and really makes no difference.

Key items for that car would just be, as mentioned, how rusty or not it is underneath, and also just being sure that it runs and shifts properly, and the suspension is fine. Either way, it's an older car, and may need a few minor items, but nothing is too hard or pricey thanks to the simplicity of the car.

For that price, it looks like a TERRIFIC deal, all facts considered. I'd jump on it, as long as it checks out even decently.

Since so much about our cars is the cute options, make sure they all work -- or at least the indicator lights come on to impress passengers. Ha And, you already know you can drop some good $$$ on A/C work.

BTW, the lower carriage pic looks a little ragged compared to most other FWDs that get coddled by their prissy old fart original owners. So, I'd ask how many owners it's had, and I don't see mention of how many miles, but it don't sound like a bad price as it sets there. I would buy a CarFax, but that's just me. If not close enough for my mech. to inspect, I would hit a dealer closeby and offer to pay them like $20 to print out the VIN's entire service record, but again TJM.

Good luck.

the car looks clean, specially the interior, i wish my interior look that nice. if she run good and no hesitation and things like that, the main thing is the engine, tranny and the body, the rest is minor stuff,
but that's me, that i fix everything in my cars and they don't see a repair shop at all.
good luck with it

I'm looking at the engine pics, particularly the radiator support, rust does NOT appear to be major. It has the patina of a NY/NJ car but nowehere near a rust-belt unit.

Just look at the hood latch area, some bits of orange on the bolts but nothing that is flaking wildly.

You can tell if a car is run in north-east winter because the salt spray gets right into the rad support area and makes a hideous mess. This one looks like it has only sit, imo, because the frame itself looks pickled a little. Which would be normal, its bare metal I curse GM.

The colour is the t!ts, some swangin' wheels (nothing too big obviously ) and it will turn heads.

The interior looks very nice, creamy in fact, yum yum yum. I say the price is right, go for it. Get the rear suspension tightened up with bars, shocks and springs and you will be a very happy camper.
