How many people have 9C1 springs on a Fleetwood here? What are your experiences?

My compressor is down and I can't find out why and it is getting me annoyed (with +10 to -10F temps out doesn't help to get it fixed either). It needs stiffer in the back anyway, so it is a thought.

Anyone with picts??

I have them in my white 94 Fleetwood. Listen, im the type of guy that wanted to keep my load leveling system.

With the 9c1 springs, LEAKING non-air shocks, the car sits the same if not HIGHER then my stock 95 R1P with air shocks and stock springs.

Get some 9c1 springs, and new shocks you will be happy with the results. The car does feel more attached to the road.

Honestly I would like stiffer in back, it feels like that is where the handling is suffering. It needs more front bar and more rear spring. But I might consider 9C1 all around, but I ahve heard they are stiff. But how stiff is "stiff"?

I did just that, more bar in the front and stiffer in the rear. Lenny sold me his HO front bar and his SS rear bar. I doubled up the stock caddy rear bar w the SS rear bar, did Moog 507's with GW arms and the FWB feels like its on rails (if that's possible).

the 9c1 will put the back up to level, used the monroe ss shock or 9c1 shock and used a 9c1 rear sway bar, with front 9c1 spring with one turn cut, 9c1 shocks adn a f-body sway and you will like the results, but then to take advantedge of this set up, you will need to change tires to a lower profile than stock,

I went from SS springs in the rear to 9C1 springs in the rear. Matched with Bilstein shocks of course.

HUGE difference. The Fleetwood sits a little higher in the back now, but it is still around the stock height. It is perfect if you occasionally have passengers, put a load, etc. The SS springs are just too low for my taste, especially when loaded.

How is the rate of the rear 9C1 with the stock front springs? Do they seem to bounce with the same rate (frequency)?

My car is a V4P, so it has the FE2 suspension like the R1P cars do. The stock front rate is same as the Impala SS, just taller.

They should be the same as the 9c1 I would think, I meaning 7,000 towing capacity gotta hold that ass end up.

Being I haven't ridden in a 9C1 car, I can't say. But the V4P stock springs are relatively level with dead air shocks (fender skirt is just about 1 in over center cap of wheel, with nothing in the car, but start loading up 4 people and it is sagging to just below the tops of the center caps, and enough to be not cool over deeper bumps.

So without the air shocks, it needs help, with it is ok, but needs to be stiffer.

Let me clarify.. the springs I installed were not used 9C1 springs.

They were brand new springs from Autozone labeled as '94-96 Impala SS Heavy duty springs (~$90.00). They also had Caprice springs, and regular Impala SS springs.

These springs are stiffer than the SS springs I had and did not lower much when I had the full load from Virginia to Chicago.

I have the Bilstein sports in the front and heavy duty Bilsteins in the rear. IMO, this is the perfect ride combined with the Hotchkis bars and UMI control arms.
