To play video while your car is driving you must have something to trick the head unit into thinking the car is in park. I have an Alpine IVA-D310. I heard you could just ground out the parking brake lead and you can play video while your car is moving.

Why does the head unit need a signal from the foot brake? Where can I find the wire to tap into for the foot brake signal?

I am pretty sure that on the Alpine, that won't work. Alpine has always had a 2 step lock out for video while driving.

Why does it need a signal??? Becasue you are not supposed to drive around watching video!

It is only supposed to work when stopped that's why they want a brake input.

So you pay 800.00 and up for a good head-unit with DVD and you can't watch it while doing 110 on the freeway at 2am so the screen illuminates the whole car and you seem to glow when someone looks out there rearview mirror and see's you coming ?

YEAH RIGHT! I keep both my Pioneers on flip every chance I get. Hell, I paid good money for these units...lol

Here you go.

THE BLACK BOX R2

OR IF YOU WANT THE MANUAL VERSION

I have the Manual version in my Denali. The fully automatic version would be nice but i have no problem flicking the switch everytime I turn the truck on.
